Urgent Appeal: Save Zahra Tabari from Execution

Iranian women’s rights activist Zahra Tabari is at risk of execution. She was sentenced to death because of her peaceful advocacy for the rights of women and girls.

Arrest, Solitary Confinement, and Death Sentence

The engineer was arrested by Iranian intelligence authorities in April 2025.

After months in solitary confinement and reports of torture, she was sentenced to death in a trial that lasted only a few minutes.

She is accused of protesting against oppression through the message:

“Woman, Resistance, Freedom.”

She is currently being held in Lakan Prison in Rasht.

Widespread International Solidarity

Members of the European Parliament, politicians, Nobel laureates, human rights experts, and former heads of government are calling for her immediate release.

Independent United Nations human rights experts consider the judgment to constitute serious violations of international human rights standards and the right to a fair trial.
